Shadowkeep introduced a new collectible type with the endearing name of Jade Rabbit. These tiny statues resemble the emblem stamped on the Jade Rabbit exotic scout rifle originally seen in Destiny 1. Furthermore, each Jade Rabbit is unique in that they're wearing little outfits, and are presented in slightly different poses. They make a "jingling" sound when you're near them. They are scattered around the Moon, and upon interacting with one, you may get the response, "You Lack Something."

That "something" is a Tasty Rice Cake. Yes, apparently these collectibles accept a specific food offering (if you can call rice cakes food). Giving the rabbits rice cakes will cause them to disappear (or more accurately, to relocate into a secret "rabbit trophy room."

How to acquire Tasty Rice Cakes

The best method we know of so far for farming rice cakes is through the completion of public events and Nightmare Hunts. You may also find that a rice cake will drop when opening a loot chest. But because rice cakes are a legendary item, that is likely to be more rare. Giving a Jade Rabbit a rice cake may net you a Phantasmal Fragment, or Phantasmal Core if you're really lucky.

Where to find the Jade Rabbit room

After spawning into Sanctuary, look to the right and go down the large ramp. Hang another right, and you'll find a lit, blue-coloured corridor. proceed inside and traverse the first room. Enter the second room (the "rabbit" room) containing ten small pedestals. There is a broken Jade Rabbit on the floor, and a blue rabbit logo on a locked door. Whenever you "feed" a rice cake to a Jade Rabbit found in the wild, it will disappear from that spot, and reappear on one of the pedestals in this room. Collecting all of the Jade Rabbits will (presumably) net a reward, possibly by opening the locked door ... however, that's yet to be determined.

Here's a list of the Jade Rabbit hiding spots, in no particular order. Refer to the moon map above for icon placement, and also niitq's video link below.

Jade Rabbit: Hellmouth

Hellmouth — At the stone balcony (with the two green light fixtures) overlooking the Hellmouth on its southern side, turn away from the Hellmouth and head up the hill to your left. Once you're near the metal ramp that leads over the glowing, green canyon, turn right and follow the canyon's left edge. You'll see a rabbit sitting on a small chair, near a purple tarp.

Jade Rabbit: Archer's Line

Archer's Line — Found in a research style facility on the ease side (and crawling with enemies). Go inside a side room, to the right of an enemy spawn (fog) doorway. Look around the back of a block of machinery-crates to find this Jade Rabbit.

Jade Rabbit: Sorrow's Harbor

Sorrow's Harbor — From the spawn point in this area, move forward towards the central part of this area and look northwest. Nestled between two grey-coloured, barnacle-covered Hive pillars is a Jade Rabbit.

Jade Rabbit: Anchor of Light

Anchor of Light — From Sanctuary, go around the corner at right and drive north. Off to the left is a large building topped with a transmitter tower, a purple tarp and satellite dishes. Head for the roof. At the base of the transmitter tower is a Jade Rabbit in front of a console.

Jade Rabbit: Circle of Bones

Circle of Bones — Accessed via the Hellmouth / Gatehouse. Proceed around the Hellmouth in a circular fashion until you reach the area shown in the image at left. Look for a Jade Rabbit under a raised walkway.

Jade Rabbit: Chamber of Night

Chamber of Night — From The World's Grave, drop down and head through the large doorway, then turn to the right and into the pitch-black corridor. Soon, you'll be in the Chamber of Night. Proceed until you come across a large room with a huge, pentagonal doorway that's glowing orange. A Jade Rabbit can be found on top of a rock formation in this chamber-cave.

Jade Rabbit: Shrine of Oryx

Shrine of Oryx — Access the Hall of Wisdom through the Temple of Crota entrance in the Anchor of Light area. Once in the Hall, proceed through the large, orange ring at the back. At the end of this corridor you'll be in the Shrine. Look to the ledge on your right, and you'll see a Jade Rabbit, among the spooky, shadow people.

Jade Rabbit: K1 Logistics

K1 Logistics Lost Sector — Located in the north end of Archer's Line. Fight your way through the lost sector, and defeat the boss, the Nightmare of Kelnix Reborn. Thereafter, proceed into the squat-looking building opposite from where you entered the arena. Approach the large, yellow-metal door stamped with the number 7. Look to the right to see a Jade Rabbit (facing a cat from the Dreaming City).

Jade Rabbit: K1 Revelation

K1 Revelation Lost Sector — This lost sector entrance is located in the middle of the Sorrow's Harbor area. Do the usual enemy-clearing. After dispatching the boss, the Nightmare of Arguth, The Tormented, look for the large, gold-plated tunnel. Follow it, and find the Jade Rabbit sitting on a chair at the tunnel's end.
