Horizon ZD: Power Cell Locations

Looking for a way to increase your character's stamina while trying to take down the bigger machines? It's not much of a secret that Horizon Zero Dawn features a side quest called Ancient Armory that, when completed, unlocks the powerful Shield Weaver armor, which renders Aloy nearly invincible for a time while wearing it.

As you might expect, there's a grind involved to get this special armor. Aloy must hunt for five (5) hidden "power cells" that are scattered across the territories. These power cells are presented below in the chronological order obtainable during the main quest line, although you don't necessarily have to acquire the power cells in this order.

Power Cell #1 — Bunker Ruins — The first power cell can actually be found while exploring the open world after completing the prologue as young Aloy. Thereafter, as an adult, Aloy can return to the ruins northeast of Mother's Watch where the young Aloy found her Focus device. Once back inside the ruined bunker, retrace your path through the barracks and down the stairs until you come to a closed door.

Pry open the door with your spear, and move through the offices to head back upstairs. At the top of the steps you'll find a room to your right. However, the doorway is blocked by rock formations (properly known as stalactites and stalagmites). You can see the green-colored power cell marker in the room behind the blocked doorway. Use your spear to smash through this barrier, and collect the power cell from the desk.

Power Cell #2 — All-Mother Temple — The next power cell can be found in the All-Mother Temple in Mother's Watch during the quest Womb of the Mountain, right after you complete The Proving. After finding your equipment and speaking to Matriarch Teersa, don't immediately follow her out of the stronghold. Instead, cross the hall to a locked door. Next to the locked door is an open ventilation duct. Move through the duct to enter the room beyond the locked door, and collect the power cell.

NOTE: If you did not collect this power cell during the quest, you can return to Mother's Watch at night to get back into the All-Mother Temple. If you go during the day the gate will be locked. If you fast travel to Mother's Watch, you will need to traverse the bridge to its opposite side, and then return to the gate, which should now be open. However, if you find the gate locked regardless of your approach (which was my experience), you may conclude that the power cell from the All-Mother Temple has already been acquired.

Power Cell #3 — Faro Tower — The third power cell can be found during the Maker's End quest, in an area with the same name. Climb the F.A.S. building all the way up to Faro's office. Near the end of the mission, following your interactions — you need to scale the tower at the east end of the building, to the very top.

Pick up the power cell and rappel back down.

Power Cell #4 — The Grave Hoard — The next power cell can be collected in the mission called The Grave Hoard, in a location of the same name. After descending down into the ruins, you will need to open an electronically locked door by interacting with three sets of mechanisms, to continue the mission.

Once the door is unlocked, you'll find this power cell inside, lying on the ground.

Power Cell #5 — GAIA Prime — The final power cell can be found in the ruins of GAIA Prime during the mission The Mountain That Fell. After speaking virtually to Sylens in his workshop, climb down the elevator shaft and rappel down into the ruins.

Before following your objective marker to the right, turn left and walk north. Climb up the rubble ahead of you and proceed into a cave glowing with blue light.

On a shelf in the back of the room you will find the power cell.
