Sony Interactive Entertainment has agreed to acquire the video game maker Bungie in a deal valued at $3.6 billion.
But this deal pales in comparison to acquisitions made earlier in January 2022, when Microsoft paid $68.7 billion to acquire Activision Blizzard, and Take Two Interactive negotiated the purchase of Zynga for $11 billion.
Sony has stated that Bungie will continue to operate independently.
