D2 Lightfall Calus Boss Fight - Cheddar Version

Okay, let's be clear...  Calus is a pain in the — butt!  His shield is exceptionally robust (a normal big-boss feature), and takes some time to whittle down.  The arena really isn't that large, either.

Confronting Calus (and his wholly annoying minions) in the final boss fight of Destiny 2's Lightfall campaign, presents players with a difficult fight challenge.

That said -- "Curds & Whey" to the rescue.

Firstly, thanks to Gamepur and Pro Game Guides for highlighting player Esoterickk's efforts to find an easier way to (ahem) beat this ass... er, tacky boss at his own game.

According to Esoterickk, there are two dispatch methods when dealing with Calus:

1.  Use the piping under the arena in phase 1, then grapple to the top of the dome in phase 2

2.  Remain under the arena in both phases — it's easier (as some players were having trouble grappling)

In terms of sub-class, it's really up to you if you want a Strand bundle.  Osteo is the preferred weapon (damage over time), as is a heavy machine gun — again, all choices subjective.  Don't forget to plant your rally banner.

To begin the fight, face away from the centre of the arena, and jump down beside the stairwell to access the area below the arena floor.

Walk along the piping towards the centre of the arena.  When near Calus, firing a few rounds from your weapon will get him excited, and the ruckus begins.

In phase 1, stay under the stairs and shoot Calus through the steps, while remaining death-free!  In phase 2, simply stay under the arena floor and adjust your firing position to get the proper bead on the boss.  It may take a bit longer than the first dispatch method, but the results are the same on Classic or Legend.  Calus = dead.  You = alive.
