D2 Farming: Mod components

What are mod components?
Store energy weapons in your vault
Reacquire weapons
Destiny 2: Forsaken (logo)
Let's call this the "harv-loch" method. So, what are Mod Components?

Mod Components are materials used to buy various modifications for armor and weapons, from vendors such as Banshee-44 and Ada-1.

Mod Components also fall into the rare materials category ... that is, they are not easily obtained. The following steps detail the fastest method for acquiring said components. You can call this a trick or a hack, but this won't get you banned as no known game rules are being broken.

1. Go to a vault (Tower or Farm)

2. Deposit all of your Energy Weapons into the vault. You should be left with 9 empty slots.

3. Press the Options button on your controller, and go to your Collections page. Click on Weapons.

4. Make sure you have at least one Energy Weapon from Year 1 (those without the Forsaken logo) unlocked on your Collections page. For example, weapons that can be used here are the Yellowjacket-3au (Auto Rifle), the Sonata-48 (Scout Rifle) and the Requiem-43 (Shotgun), to name just three.

5. Now go ahead and reacquire nine of these weapons mentioned above.

6. Go to your Character menu and begin dismantling them.

7. After dismantling 3, 4 or 5 of these weapons, you will get a Mod Component.

8. Continue this process until you have enough Mod Components to buy the mods you need.

NOTE: You don't have to worry about burning too much of your materials in this process, as reacquiring one of these "Blue" weapons burns only 250 Glimmer and 3 Gunsmith Materials. Dismantling one of these weapons gives you 125 Glimmer and 2 Gunsmith Materials in return. So really, you're spending just 125 Glimmer and only 1 Gunsmith Material on each one of these weapons.
