D2: Top PvE heavy guns

Although not necessarily in order of strength, here are Dychronic's personal favourite "heavies" that he relies on to protect his Guardian in the wild. Selection criteria included:

1. DPS with total ammo damage
2. Ease of access (acquiring)
3. Ease of use (situational)

5 — One Thousand Voices exotic solar fusion rifle. Drops in: Last Wish. Intrinsic: Charging this weapon unleashes a giant, continuous beam of death. Trait: This weapon's beam superheats its target upon impact, causing delayed explosions.

4  — Swarm of the Raven legendary void grenade launcher. Drops in: Iron Banner. Intrinsic: Spike grenades. 150 RPM and a magazine size of 16, which you can empty in just 6 seconds! This is one of the best DPS heavy weapons in Destiny 2 (right now).

3  — Whisper of the Worm exotic solar sniper rifle. Drops in: Exotic quest. Intrinsic: Rapidly landing three precision shots reloads the weapon from the magazine (post-nerf). Still in the top 3 of all heavy weapons in terms of DPS (107K+). Note that you must use the weapon's catalyst to achieve the highest DPS numbers.

2  — D.A.R.C.I. exotic arc sniper rifle. Drops in: Exotic engram (and via Xûr). Intrinsic: Personal Assistant, with enhanced enemy data when aiming weapon. According to Dychronic, this is the top "damage hound" in Destiny 2 in terms of DPS (140K+). The high RPM (140) isn't a great advantage, but its generous magazine (23) certainly is. The more you use this weapon, the friendlier it gets!

1  — Sleeper Simulant exotic solar linear fusion rifle. Drops in: Exotic quest. Intrinsic: The weapon's laser over-penetrates enemies and refracts off hard surfaces. Trait: Increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down sights. This weapon rose to the top of the heap by virtue of the fact that it's very forgiving, and much easier to use than sniper rifles (that demand accuracy and time).
