Bad Juju is part of the Tribute Hall in the Menagerie, and you will need to do some work in the Tribute Hall before you get access to this weapon quest.
The Tribute Hall is unlocked by accessing the chest next to vendor Werner on the Nessus barge. You will then get a quest telling you to go to the Tribute Hall and talk to the Calus statue (otherwise known as the Visage of Calus), who will give you the next part of the quest. Click the accompanying image to view the Calus invite verbiage. "Trophy" is likely a euphemistic term for "tribute."
There are a total of 50 tributes in the game. You will be able to purchase 30 of these tributes directly from the Calus statue. These tributes are expensive, and without discounts, the average player won't be able to afford many of them. To discount tributes, you will need to complete daily Champion Bounties handed out by this statue, er ... vendor. There are four (4) bounties per player character, per day.
As of the July 9th reset, there are some minor glitches with the discount bounties; some work properly after the 4th bounty you complete, others don't give any sort of boost at all, while yet some others only give glimmer ... so Bungie will need to "clarify" some of the issues players are currently experiencing. Eventually, each bounty should count for about 1% of the discount. Another glitch is that some tributes are going to the Postmaster, so be sure to check there regularly.
In terms of the high cost of tributes, and their massive demand for planetary materials, it's highly recommended that players don't rely on manually farming materials, but instead simply purchase needed materials from the Spider using legendary shards.
To start, do your first bounty, after which you may begin placing your tributes in the Tribute Hall itself. Tributes are filed under the TRIUMPHS tab > DESTINATIONS > MINOR > THE TRIBUTE HALL. Completing tributes in this menu require you to do various activities in the game, using Leviathan-based armour and weapons ... that's, gear from the Menagerie and Crown of Sorrow raid. Gear from previous Leviathan raids also work.
You will need to complete things like 100K Nightfalls, strikes, Crucible, Gambit, raids, and more. There are a total of 14 tributes from these triumphs; there is one (1) tribute from opening the Tribute Hall, 30 tributes from the Calus statue, five (5) more tributes while completing the Golden Hero quest (which you will receive after opening the Tribute Hall) ... for a grand total of 50 tributes.
To get started on the acquisition of Bad Juju, you will need to unlock the 5 War Beast tributes in the centre of the Tribute Hall. This is done by completing the various parts of the Golden Hero quest line. To complete steps, you need to turn in tributes as you go. You will gain a "Memory of a War Beast" by turning in 3 tributes. You will make gains at 6, 10, 14 and 18 tributes turned in. When all 5 War Beast tributes have been placed, you will get access to the Bad Juju mission, via the Pest Control quest.
The Bad Juju quest isn't arduous, and takes about 10-15 minutes at a casual pace. After completing this mission, you will acquire the Bad Juju exotic pulse rifle. There is also a triumph for completing this mission solo, without dying. Since the mission is only at 350 difficulty, this is easily done ... sans sweat. The catalyst for Bad Juju unlocks after turning in 45 tributes in the Tribute Hall.
Bad Juju is virtually identical from Destiny 1: Kills automatically reload the weapon, increases damage for a short time, features a full-auto option, and increases your super energy based on how many "stacks of strings of curses" you have (stacks up to 5 times). The Bad Juju catalyst increases the duration of string of curses. The weapon behaves very much like it did in Destiny 1, although the increase in super isn't as generous this time around.
All considered, Bad Juju is a respectable PvE weapon, and will do plenty of damage to those hordes of ads ... that will never know what dispatched them so quickly.
Here are a couple of video descriptions that make this whole Tribute Hall merry-go-round much clearer than my explanation ... I'm sure!
