D2: Weekly reset for July 2nd, 2019

Dychronic video: 9m 12s
With this weekly Tuesday reset, gamer-reviewer Dychronic checks in with vendors to keep us up to date. I'm trying a new feature in this post; for each of the items, I've included a jump-link to the exact discussion point in the accompanying video [square brackets]. Hopefully it's a useful feature.

The chase for the Lumina exotic hand cannon is on! When you fired up Destiny 2 following the reset, you were greeted with the following message:

A MESSAGE FROM SHIN MALPHUR
The Man With The Golden Gun
"There's a letter waiting for you on the clifftop.
Same place as before.
I've got a gift for you... supposing you want it."

That's all we are getting from Bungie in terms of hints! The inference is that you will likely have to travel to the same location where the Thorn quest began... and hopefully find a loot chest containing the next clue. Yes, it's been awhile (mid-March)... so here's a link to a Datto video about the Thorn quest. The first minute of the video is all you need to refresh your memory of where to find the chest.

NIGHTFALL — [NF] The three 540-level NFs this week are, Strange Terrain, The Hollowed Lair, and Savathûn's Song. Mission modifiers include Solar Singe, Match Game, Blackout, Extinguish, Equipment Locked, and Challenge Card. As well as being the quickest NF time-wise, Dychronic also mentions that Strange Terrain still might contain "the glitch" that permit exceptionally high scoring. More research?

VANGUARD STRIKES — [VS] The heroic modifier this week is Arc Singe, with dailies today of Blackout and Grenadier. The quickest run-through for the Daily heroic Story Mission collection is Ice and Shadow, with the other missions being Sacrilege, Hope, Last Call, and Nothing Left To Say.

CRUCIBLE — [CR] The weekly is Breakthrough 4x4. Deploy the Breaker to expose your opponent's vault. Then, hack their vault to plunder it.

THE RECKONING — [RK] The co-op arena this week features the modifier Arc Singe, with start-off dailies of Blackout and Heavyweight.

FLASHPOINT — [FP] This week it's on the Tangled Shore. Do the Spider's bounties, and public events, Lost Sectors, and Heroic Adventures. Dychronic notes that special lore is unlocked on the Tangled Shore only when hosting the Flashpoint. Check the Tangled Shore map often for signs of those additions, as you complete the FP this week.

THE DREAMING CITY — [DC] The city is now in its lowest curse cycle. Check in with Petra in the Strand area, help her out, and get yourself some powerful gear in the process. This week the Ascendent Realm is in the Garden area (if we had a proper compass, that would be south). Collect the three balls, take them to the centre and proceed to dispatch a few 'super' enemies. Easy-peasy!

ESCALATION PROTOCOL — [EP] Up for grabs on Mars this week is the Ikelos shot gun. Simply rinse and repeat EP rounds 6 and 7 ... and eventually the weapon will drop. According to Dychronic, this worthwhile shot gun will be yours with less than an hour's worth of 'grinding' (more or less 10 tries). Yay! Feel free to enjoy a cold, adult beverage after that exercise!

EVERVERSE VENDOR — [EV] This week Tess Everis has some interesting offerings. For the paltry sum of 2,000 Bright Dust, you too can planet/moon-hop in a very different-looking ship, The Oviraptor. Part space ship / part submarine ... it's like no other ship ever seen in the Destiny universe. A bit more BD will net you stuff such as the Giddy Laugh emote (400), the Intrepid Discovery Strides leg armour for Hunters (800), The Caduceus exotic gauntlet ornament for Warlocks (1,950), the Salt The Fields weapon ornament for the Pillager submachine gun (700), the Intrepid Exploit Mark for Titans (800), and the flaming animated Viper Projection for your ghost (1,500).

CLAN STEWARD — [CS] This week in the Clan Bounties category, Hawthorne is offering the following bounties that you must run with clan mates to earn 2,000 clan XP each: Blindsight (complete the Blind Well at Tier III or higher), Tag-Teaming (assist or land final blows in the Crucible), Raiding Party (complete any Raid), and A Calus Affair (complete Menagerie runs). Weekly Raid challenges include Forever Fight (don't kill any of the regular ogres, just the boss), All For One, One For All (all six players will dunk one colour each, 3x3 grouping works well, the tank will spawn, rinse and repeat dunking two more times, and viola), and Total Victory (a first encounter; more info to follow).

LEVIATHAN — [LV] Available bounty offerings from the bewitched Benedict 99-40 include Benevolence (collect 150 orbs of light), Trial By Combat (complete 10 Crucible daily bounties), The Emperor's Embrace (decrypt 3 prime engrams). You may recognize these bounties as the same set from week two of Season of Opulence, so the cycle is repeating. In terms of buffs, Wealth of the Emperor offers three purchases each week, and this buff will increase chances of earning Imperial currency from strikes, Gambit, Crucible and the Menagerie. Since the Barge (Nessus) resets on Sundays, if you're in need of Runes and have 75,000 glimmer, you can open all of the loot chests on the back deck. Need more glimmer? The Spider is a good source.
