D2: Jötunn heading for Lacklusterville

Light.gg: Jötunn fusion rifle
Bungie has become aware that the Jötunn exotic fusion rifle is doing more than its fair share of damage, not so much in terms of its accuracy as a ranged weapon ... the issue seems to be that when Jötunn is fired in very close proximity to enemies, it creates ridiculous amounts of destruction, dispatching enemy combatants without the need for a second shot (actually damaging the weapon's user in the process — but not killing the Guardian).

For this reason, Jötunn has earned the nickname "toaster!"

This doesn't affect PvP, but for the time being, using it in PvE is just a whole bunch of fun. However, according to Bungie's Luke Smith in a recent tweet, "Jötunn/Toaster will be disabled for Garden of Salvation. The team has identified the issue with Jötunn and we will release a fix in a future update."

Furthermore, Bungie's Cozmo23 wrote, "Currently, we plan to disable it [Jötunn] for the first 24 hours [upon Shadowkeep launch] to cover the World First race. We can't pick and choose where it's disabled, [and] you will not be able to equip it for any activities while it is disabled."

Note: The Garden of Salvation raid has a planned launch date of October 5th.
