D2: Top 10 Fun Exotics

A fun combo!
Here's an interesting list of personal favourites from gamer-reviewer Dychronic that isn't based on statistics, but instead are presented for their "fun" factor. Click on a weapon or armour name to see its details in the Light.gg database.

1The Colony grenade launcher featuring the Insectoid Robot Grenades intrinsic, whereby grenades are composed of insectoid robots that chase targets and explode close to them. Includes Serve the Colony perk that allows insectoid robot grenades to quickly repopulate the magazine from reserves while The Colony is unequipped. The fun part involves watching the grenades sprout little legs and run across the ground or along a wall towards the nearest enemy.

2The Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher featuring the Mad Scientist intrinsic, allowing this weapon to fire a volley of rockets. This weapon automatically reloads on ammo pickup with the Mechanized Autoloader perk. The fun part is that, IF enemies survive this weapon's blast, they will be lifted off the ground and thrown into the distance (works especially well on Hive knights).

3Bad Juju pulse rifle featuring the String of Curses intrinsic, whereby kills refill the magazine, increase damage for a short duration, and grant Super energy based on the strength of String of Curses. Fires full-auto! This weapon also features ergonomic grips that increase accuracy and stability when firing from the hip with the Hip-Fire Grip perk. The fun part is almost unlimited ammo (as long as an enemy can be dispatched within the 24-bullet magazine limit).

4The Huckleberry submachine gun featuring the Ride the Bull intrinsic, whereby the weapon has an increased rate of fire and recoil while holding down the trigger. Kills with this weapon reload a portion of the magazine. With the Rampage perk, kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage that can stack up to 3x. The fun part is very similar to Bad Juju, in terms of regaining ammo.

5Sunshot hand cannon featuring the Sunburn intrinsic that allows this weapon to fire explosive rounds. Targets that take damage from Sunshot are also highlighted. Support is provided by the Sun Blast perk, whereby targets killed with Sunshot explode in Solar energy. As an aside, there is a plan after Shadowkeep launches, to buff Sunshot's magazine size from 8 to 12 rounds. The fun part of this weapon is that it's all about constant explosions, or as Asher Mir would complain, "What's with all that racket!?"

6An Insurmountable Skullfort Titan helmet featuring the Transfusion Matrix intrinsic, whereby kills with Arc melée abilities trigger health regeneration and restore melée energy. Essentially getting Arc melée kills returns your melée energy, and also restores some of your grenade energy. The fun part is that, using this helmet with the Striker subclass, Code of the Missile or Code of the Earthshaker would, by all accounts, create a kind of ... Super-Titan ... essentially giving you infinite grenades and melée energy. More applicable to lower- and medium-range combat scenarios.

7Doom Fang Pauldron Titan gauntlets featuring the Horns of Doom intrinsic, whereby Void melée kills give Super energy. And more importantly, while Sentinel Shield is active, melée kills recharge Shield Throw, which extends your Super on hits. The fun part is that as long as enemies are "reachable," your Super should pretty much be up all, or nearly all of the time.

8One Thousand Voices fusion rifle featuring the Akamkara's Eye intrinsic, whereby charging this weapon unleashes a giant, continuous beam of death. Supported by the Unforeseen Repercussions perk, this weapon's beam superheats its target upon impact, causing delayed explosions. The fun part comes when watching the results of enemies being superheated.

9Sunbracers warlock gauntlets featuring the Helium Spirals intrinsic, which increases the duration of Solar grenades. Solar melée kills grant unlimited Solar grenade energy for a brief time (about 6 seconds). Combining these gauntlets with the Attunement of Sky subclass perk allows you to throw 5 or 6 grenades while in mid-air, and those grenades will give your grenade energy back ... so the fun part is, it's basically rinse and repeat ... death from above.

10Chromatic Fire Warlock chest armour AND the Ace of Spades hand cannon together. Firstly, the Chromatic Fire armour features the Crystalline Transistor intrinsic, whereby precision kills with your kinetic weapon create an explosion in the element of your equipped subclass. Secondly, the Ace of Spades is the only kinetic weapon that features the Firefly perk, whereby precision kills increase reload speed and cause the target to explode, dealing Solar damage to nearby enemies. Ergo, the fun part is applying this armour and weapon combination, which creates double the explosions on precision kills. Asher Mir might explode if you ran this mighty duo on Io.
